The Government of India, through the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), is set to implement new Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for key chemical products under the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals. These regulations will make BIS certification mandatory for Linear Alkyl Benzene (IS 12795:2020) and Morpholine (IS 12084:2018) effective 01 July 2026, and n-Butyl Acrylate (IS 14709:1999) effective 10 July 2026.
These upcoming QCOs aim to ensure consistent product quality, enhance consumer safety, and strengthen regulatory compliance across the chemical industry. Manufacturers, importers, and suppliers dealing in these products must obtain BIS certification and comply with the applicable Indian Standards before the enforcement dates to avoid penalties and business disruptions.
