The Government of India, through the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), has announced a new Quality Control Order (QCO) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for Digital Television Receivers for Satellite Broadcast Transmission. As per the notification, compliance with IS 18112:2022 will become mandatory from 26 July 2026.
This QCO aims to ensure product quality, enhance consumer safety, and standardize performance requirements across the electronics industry. All manufacturers, importers, and distributors dealing with digital satellite TV receivers must obtain BIS certification before the effective date to continue operations in the Indian market.
